Luminus, the eastern region’s leader for engagement with employees and premium brand housing services beat the winter blues by celebrating ‘Wonderful Wednesday’.

For many people, January is full of doom and gloom, with two Mondays of the month identified as being “Blue Monday”, the most depressing days of the year. At Luminus we have chosen to buck this trend, and this year we have chosen to celebrate ‘Wonderful Wednesday’.

The colourful celebration was held at the first Luminus Conference of the year on Wednesday 20 January and was led by Group Chief Executive, Dr Chan Abraham.

Enthusiastic Luminus employees sang a ‘Zip-a-dee-do-da’ and ‘You are my sunshine’ medley, supported by the very talented Luminus band, which included an accordion, flute, ukulele and even a recorder!

Employees, guests and partners from across the region, who joined in with the unique celebrations. Together, they all enjoyed cake or fresh fruit and were given party hats and horns, as they celebrated the joy of seeking to bring great service to others.

During the conference, Dr Chan Abraham, Group Chief Executive of Luminus and President of Leadership International, encouraged employees to find the road to happiness and make positive changes in their lives.

To continue the celebration, Luminus celebrated ‘Glorious Saturday’ with residents at the January Residents Conference on Saturday 30 January, where attendees heard how Luminus, working with local people, is making a difference in their communities as part of the 2016 Conference theme ‘We care, do you?’.

Dr Chan Abraham said;

“At Luminus we had already started 2016, our Year of Refining Focus, with a renewed sense of commitment to our customers and communities. This year we wanted to encourage our staff, and our partners, to continue being positive and optimistic even when ‘experts’ seem to be telling the British public it is a time to be miserable. We believe that we all have the power to change the world where we are for the better and celebrations such as these, remind us to seize every day with that in mind.  While times are tough for everyone, everyone at Luminus is determined to help, encourage and support others by maintaining a positive outlook and seeking to give the very best that we can, wherever we are, as we continue to make progress along The Road to Renewal.”
