Employees and non-executives at Luminus, the eastern region’s premier housing provider and independently recognised as one of the UK’s best companies to work for, were out in force to enjoy a “Luminimms” together, the company’s signature non-alcoholic cocktail, as well as a range of activities at a special annual summer event.

Gathered on the lawn at Luminus HQ Brook House in the early evening sunshine, staff and non-executives were treated to the “secret recipe” cocktail as well as strawberries and cream while they were entertained with live music provided by some of Luminus’ own talent, Matt and Maddy, on acoustic guitar and vilon.

Also on the programme was an egg-and-spoon race using large inflatable eggs and spoons.  Each team within the company was represented by one contestant, and spectators had a lot of fun watching them compete against each other in rounds.  Maintenance Manager, John Conroy, was crowned the ultimate winner and he posed triumphantly for a photo with a silver cup to commemorate his victory.

For Nanette Cleghorn, PA to the Group Chief Executive, it was a first time attending this event. She said, “I thoroughly enjoyed my first Luminimms experience.  The cocktail itself and the strawberries and cream were delicious and everyone had a super time.  It was a fantastic opportunity to socialise with my colleagues on a beautiful summer’s evening, listen to live music and have great fun.”

Dr Chan Abraham, Group Chief Executive, concluded the event with a short speech thanking the staff for participating and most importantly for all their continuing excellent work.  Speaking of the event, he said:

“We are very proud of our ‘Luminimms’ event, which has become a memorable occasion in our calendar for some years. Our staff are truly our greatest asset and this event is another way of showing our appreciation for the fantastic work they are doing as they strive to deliver a Premium Brand service, supporting each other and encouraging local communities to make progress along The Road to Renewal.”
