Luminus lights up Christmas for disadvantaged children
Luminus and Luminus Ferry Project employees have embraced the 2016 Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal and donated 24 shoeboxes filled with presents for disadvantaged children around the world this Christmas.
The shoeboxes will be distributed in countries where many children live below the poverty line. The boxes are filled with gifts, including sweets, colouring books, hats, scarves, gloves, toys and toiletries. They will be distributed to boys and girls aged two to fourteen to remind them that they have not been forgotten this Christmas. The shoeboxes will be delivered by Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan’s Purse. The charity successfully reaches thousands of children around the world at Christmas and provides aid throughout the year in response to humanitarian disasters.
“At Luminus we are committed to giving something back and once again our employees have gone the extra mile. Christmas is a very special time and in 2016, our Year of Refining Focus, I am really pleased that Luminus staff have volunteered to help bring joy to children in some of the poorest parts of the world, demonstrating that we are truly committed to our 2020 Vision: The Road to Renewal, to change the world where we are.”
